What if your phone could be your camera?
Actually, your phone can be your camera and if you follow some essential tips, with surprisingly good results.
Taking photos with a Camera phone is no different from using any other kind of digital camera. The rules to apply are mostly the same, and the skills needed are no different.
Follow these simple tips and enjoy your always in the pocket camera.
- Make sure your camera lens is clean. In such a small glass, any small amount of grease or other debris can cause a big difference.
- Use your camera best image quality. Set the resolution to the maximum available and use RAW files if possible.
- Try to shoot in bright environments and avoid darkness.
- If you use the phone flash, make sure you stay in range. These small flashes tend to have a short range. Shoot close to the subject in low light or on backlight situations. Shooting from more than 1 meter can be too much for many cases.
- Make sure you hold the phone steadily and comfortably. Use both hands and press the volume buttons to shoot the photo instead of the screen button.
- Avoid on-screen zoom. Move closer to the subject to fill the frame and compose your shot.
- Keep the phone cool. As the sensor heats, the noise increase, degrading image quality.
- Transfer your images to a computer and edit them as you usually do with your camera images.
